OUR Mission

To spread the Power of Inclusion and create an impact on our community.

In Memory of Robert Thomas Rowland
December 4, 1998 – August 23, 2016.

Robert’s Adventure Playground at McLane Park was inspired by the determination of Julie Limpert (Hillis).  Mrs. Limpert continued to push for an All Abilities Playground at McLane Park, and along with other community members, this project came to fruition.  The name of the playground references Robert Rowland, a young man that passed away in 2016 at the age of 17.  Robert was an outgoing, happy and courageous young man that did not let Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy dictate his demeanor.

With the blessing of the family, the playground gained its name in honor of him.  Several other individuals with special needs have been the driving force behind creating this playground, the second of its kind in Poplar Bluff (Kiwanis Bacon Park).  This playground is available to all children and adults, and does not exclude anyone because of a disability.  The spirit and inspiration of inclusion will continue to live on, through this playground and the efforts of the Poplar Bluff Community, for many years to come.
